To care for the physical world, you must first measure it.
Mālama is the Hawaiian word for caring, protecting, tending. We chose it because what we are building is the infrastructure that makes it possible to prove, with cryptographic certainty, that the physical world is being cared for.
A 30-year data trust crisis.
Every carbon market built since 1997 has eventually collapsed into the same gap: there has never been a system capable of producing verifiably true physical-world data at scale.
The EU Emissions Trading System crashed in 2013 after over-allocation was discovered, with carbon prices dropping ninety percent. In 2023, a Guardian investigation found that more than ninety percent of credits from Verra's VCS rainforest portfolio were phantom. Study after study exposes the same pattern: carbon offsets lack the integrity to justify their use as climate mitigation instruments.
The industry's response to every failure was the same: revise the methodology and add another audit layer. We asked a different question.
What if the sensor itself signed the data?
The founding premise of Mālama Labs
Hardware Supremacy.
Replace human trust with mathematical certainty. Move the point of verification from auditors to silicon. To forge data, an actor would have to physically dismantle the chip and break elliptic curve cryptography. The solution is not better auditing — it is removing auditors from the verification equation entirely.
ATECC608B Co-Processor
Every Genesis 300 node carries a dedicated cryptographic co-processor. The private key is permanently provisioned at manufacture. There is no software path to extract it. It remains isolated inside the enclave for the device's entire lifetime.
ECDSA Signatures
Every data packet is signed using Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm before it leaves the sensor. The signature binds a reading to a specific device, a specific timestamp, and the device's private key. No valid signature, no valid data.
Cardano Provenance
SaveCards anchored to Cardano via CIP-25/CIP-68. Live on Cardano preprod with 2,786+ records since June 2024. Mainnet deployment follows smart contract audit, targeting Q2 2026.
Seven markets. One foundational input.
Zero shared infrastructure exists for hardware-signed, continuously verified physical-world data. Mālama builds the input once, then licenses it everywhere. Marginal cost to serve new markets is near-zero once Genesis hardware is deployed.
Carbon Markets
$250B TAM by 2030
Frontier buyers committed. Willingness to pay $150–$600 per tonne of verified carbon. First-mover advantage in hardware-signed MRV unlocks pre-finance at scale and registry acceptance ahead of competitors.
Proof: 2,786+ SaveCards from Genesis 300 Dallas node (op5pro-field-a) on Cardano preprod. Registry engagement with Puro.earth and Isometric. LCO₂ pre-finance pipeline operational.
AI Data Centers
$500B+ AI infrastructure spend 2027
Hyperscalers need verified Scope 1 emissions data for SEC climate disclosure and EU CSRD. Same hardware, same pipeline. Q2 2026 pilot entry.
Prediction Markets
$50B TAM · Oracle-as-a-Service
Polymarket, Kalshi, and decentralized derivatives need tamper-proof event resolution. Hardware-signed sensors become the trusted source layer for physical outcomes.
Supply Chain & EUDR
$90B anti-fraud market
EU Deforestation Regulation requires per-batch provenance certification. Hardware signatures on raw material sensors unlock compliance and supply chain forensics.
Smart Agriculture
$25B precision ag market
Same sensors that produce dMRV data feed precision agriculture inputs. Sensor cost amortized across MRV licensing and precision ag SaaS.
Parametric Insurance
$35B market
Drought, frost, and flood policies require indisputable trigger data. Hardware-signed readings eliminate claims disputes and enable real-time payout.
Cities + Power Grid
$2.5T smart city market
Multi-year SaaS for municipal energy optimization, grid intelligence, and environmental compliance. Direct government and utility procurement.
Build the input once. License it everywhere.
Cost Structure
Near-zero marginal cost to serve new markets
Once Genesis hardware is deployed, each new market adds licensing revenue without new capital expenditure in sensors. The same node validates carbon SaveCards, AI compute packets, and parametric insurance triggers simultaneously.
Regulatory Advantage
One hardware truth layer satisfies multiple compliance regimes
As standards tighten — EU CSRD, SEC climate disclosure, ISO Sustainable AI, EUDR — the same hardware-signed data satisfies multiple regulatory requirements simultaneously. Compliance becomes a by-product of the infrastructure.
Network Advantage
More markets consuming the same data stream increases network value
Every Genesis node validates across multiple data types. More markets consuming the same stream increases enterprise demand for Hex Node validation and drives protocol revenue growth independent of token price.
Climate markets. Blockchain infrastructure. Land stewardship.
Three co-founders. The combination is non-negotiable. Mālama exists at the intersection of regulatory rigor, hardware engineering, and ground-truth land relationships. Each is a discipline in itself.

Tyler architects go-to-market strategy, token structure, and registry positioning. He translates hardware-signed dMRV into investment-grade carbon infrastructure and ensures every claim Mālama makes survives institutional due diligence.
His 20+ year operating history spans media (iHeartRadio at ClearChannel), creator economy (Idea Farmer — Inc. 500 #95, acquired by Maker Studios), and climate (ReSeed Carbon Assets, $4.6M raised). At Cravath, he litigated high-stakes commercial disputes. At the CFTC, he worked on Enron enforcement as a regulatory fellow. He is fluent in token design, climate markets, and the regulatory frameworks that govern both.

- Hawaiʻi forestry and regenerative agriculture
- FPIC-aligned community deployment
- IoT integration · Sustainability operations
- Mālama Foundation ↗
Jeffrey brings the on-the-ground network that turns infrastructure into deployed pilots. He manages Kahu ʻāina land steward relationships, including active forestry and agriculture projects across Maui and Hawaiʻi, and bridges blockchain-native tools with the farmer and scientist communities driving regenerative land use.
His background in sustainability operations, IoT-integrated land stewardship, and community trust-building is central to Mālama's FPIC-aligned deployment model.
You cannot build this company without someone who has earned the trust of the people who own the land.
Dominick Garey
CTO & Co-Founder
- Aiken / Plutus smart contracts
- Cardano CIP-25/CIP-68
- Fastify API · Cardano Mesh SDK
- Genesis 300 hardware architecture
- ECDSA/SHA-256 device-level signing pipeline
- dagwelldev.com ↗
Dominick is the systems architect behind Mālama's live dMRV stack. He designed the full-stack infrastructure: Aiken/Plutus smart contracts on Cardano, Fastify API backend, ECDSA/SHA-256 device-level signing pipeline, and the multi-chain onboarding protocol bridging Base and Cardano. He architected the Genesis 300 hardware stack and all on-chain anchoring logic.
Pilot Node #1 (op5pro-field-a) is live because Dominick built it. The 2,786+ SaveCards on Cardano preprod exist because the pipeline he architected has run continuously since June 22, 2024 with zero gaps. Mainnet follows smart contract audit — target Q2 2026.
